The Yellowknife Day Care Association (YKDA) is proud to work with an exceptional team of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and dedicated staff.

Our Educators are trained professionals who specialize in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Development. Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) play a vital role in supporting the growth, learning, and well-being of young children during some of the most important developmental years of their lives. Through play-based and land-based learning, thoughtful guidance, and meaningful interactions, ECEs help children build social skills, confidence, creativity, and curiosity about the world around them.

At YKDA, our educators create nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environments where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow and thrive. They thoughtfully plan activities that encourage exploration, learning through play, and positive relationships with peers and adults.

Many of our staff hold Early Childhood Education certifications and diplomas and are committed to maintaining high professional standards within the field. Our team also participates in ongoing professional development, training, and learning opportunities to stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and child development.
